Dear Parents,
This week, our lesson was about Jesus, Our Savior. We studied how God made the heavens and the earth with His words. Next, God made the man from the ground and breathed life into him. Finally, He made woman from man’s side.
God gave the man and the woman the Garden of Eden to live in and take care of. However, Satan wanted to destroy man’s relationship with God. So he partnered with a snake to deceive Eve into sinning. Once Eve sinned, Adam chose to join her.
When Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they didn’t fall over dead, but their spirits, inside of them died and a wall of sin was erected between them and God. (Genesis 2:4 – 3:6)
But God already knew that this was going to happen. The Trinity had a plan in place to redeem mankind back to themselves. This is why God the Son, had to come to earth as a baby, so he could legally redeem us from the curse of sin by dying in our place. Jesus’ death and resurrection erased the curse of sin, and now God and mankind can now be friends again.
But, in order for us to be friends with God again, we need to ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins. This causes us to be born again, and now we are no longer children of darkness but rather we are now children of light.
Our Power Verse for this week is:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” — John 3:16 (New American Standard Bible)
